Not much high-powered metal comes out of Australia it seems. When it comes to the The Land Down Under a lot of people think of Men at Work or Kylie Minogue; but wait until you hear Vanishing Point. Power Metal at its finest just shivers down my spine as Vanishing Point “Embrace The Silence” plays through my headphones. True power metal masters with keyboards setting fire to the disc and the bellows from Silvio Massaro is amazing. “Hollow” is the perfect introduction to Vanishing Point if you have never heard them. If you don’t like these guys by the first track something is wrong.
“My Virtue” is a high spot that will remind you of Journey mixed with Dream TheatrE. The keyboards are accentuated and melodic and will send you into a dream state. Vocally Silvio is on fire and has a balance of Bruce Dickinson and Steve Perry with a raw yet soothing sound. The CD flows from track to track with some fantastic music.
“Embraced” is a wild ballad and if you listen really well you will get the feeling of hearing legend Neil Diamond mixed with Steve Perry. Now that’s putting you in some high standards. There is not a bad track on “Embrace The Silence.” The musicianship is excellent and many of the songs have that pop sound which will entertain AOR radio.
The new CD will move Vanishing Point into one of the elite power metal bands.
