The eclectic incarnation of harsh and melodic vocals, make THE VAINE standout amongst others. Shell with hardcore screams and Clik with a smooth melodic voice is a match made in heaven. THE VAINE have just released their debut CD “It’s A Disease” after releasing a fantastic EP in 2006
Regrets And Hollow Threats”.
Deep rhythms, power chords and cutting guitar licks by Bee hits the high notes of extreme. This is one band that will not let their guard down, since the music is volatile on any scale. The first track that stands out is “Sounds of the Mary Celeste.” The power THE VAINE holds is intense yet writing some catch licks still being aggressive and true to their fans.
Just listening to THE VAINE with three females and two guys still in their teens and the mixtures of sounds at a tender age amazes me. This is truly a combination of molding different genres coming together to overpower and take over a top spot in music. I love the aggressiveness and on the other hand, I love the great harmonies, which could be a huge key for the band. At times, they have a sound like Lita Ford vocally and once the harsh screams enter, it brings a totally different vibe.
One of the high points is “Oh Oh Chontelle” that has the feel of a cheerleading squad gone hardcore and bouncing back to a classic rocker. This is one helluva killer song and one of the best tunes I heard this year. I am not one who is into mainstream Screamo but THE VAINE can make an impact. They remind me a bit like EYES SET TO KILL but more extreme.
You must check out the guitar work by Bee, at a tender age is an icon already. The only thing that pisses me off is that THE VAINE will not be on this year’s Warped Tour because if the were, they would be known worldwide.
Check out the sensitive side of THE VAINE with “March Of Bastille” with soft vocals and acoustic sounds. But don’t get to mellow because THE VAINE is full of adrenaline and excitement and bounce right back with more killer tunes like “Love And Monsters” & “(Bee)N Stalking Jaque”. Ending a phenomenal debut is “We Are Heroes” that is reminiscent of an Ozzyish style tune. THE VAINE out did themselves with “It’s A Disease” and I expect to see this as one of the best releases of 2008. This is a must add to everyone’s collection.
