Those German metal masters the SCORPIONS are back produced by James Michael who also does lead vocals on the new Nikki Sixx project SIXX A.M. and the world famous Desmond Child. I have been listening to the SCORPIONS as far back as “VIRGIN KILLER” and to tell you the truth HUMANITY” will reach out and capture world acclaim.

The opening track “Hour 1,” at first listen, I wasn’t sure of the direction of the new album because it has an industrial feel yet it also rocks. The thundering drums by James Kottak set the pace and the vocals by Klaus takes on a new dimension.

After the first track, all hell breaks loose as THE SCORPIONS have eleven tracks each could be a single, but “The Game of Life” sends chills down the back of my neck and the caressing voice of Klaus Meine is on fire. This is such an amazing track and fans will be overwhelmed by almost a best of CD called “HUMANITY”.

“We Were Born To Fly” follows it is a soothing sentimental song and another top rotation killer that will send you dreaming, cranking the volume to a higher level. The next track “The Future Never Dies” is a great ballad and shows the strength of Meine’s voice, it would be a prime candidate for the backing of a full orchestra.

The songs get stronger and stronger and THE SCORPIONS did a great job listing the track rotation on “HUMANITY.” I mean songs like “You're Lovin' Me to Death” and “321” are filled with sharp guitar licks and killer hooks during the choruses and you can’t but help not singing along or snapping your neck.

After a couple hard tracks the SCORPIONS come right back with another easy flowing song “Love Will Keep Us Alive” which once again could be a hit. This might be my favorite track but it’s hard to say since it’s such a great album. “Love Will Keep Us Alive” has great backing vocals, good melodic guitar and Klaus vocals shine.

Billy Corgan of “SMASHING PUMPKINS” contributes vocals to the song, "The Cross,” this song once again has killer lyrics riveting music and a song to put your thoughts into. The concluding tracks takes home the gold and please check the video out for “Humanity.” Some of the lyrics ‘…you’re a drop in the rain just a number not a name…. Just a bone chilling look into THE SCORPIONS minds and many others, talking about egotistical people, ‘…No one can save us from ourselves. Fire in the sky Humanity Good-bye… as the song ends, an explosion sounds and a little girl says ‘…it’s time’.

My own thoughts rambled through my mind and everything will come to an end sooner or later and one thing for sure we will all perish, but let’s just enjoy this great new CD from THE SCORPIONS A+.
