Raw sounds of tapping sticks and traditional riffs set in a rustic setting give birth to ROCK STARS OF AMERICA. This is a band that has the early vibe of THE STONES with extenuation on lyrics and melody.
I love the beauty of this band; they have a laid back sound but kick it up with songs like “Play It Now” and yet can ease you mind with tracks like “Sympathize With You”. Bart Griggs vocals are reminiscent of Cat Stevens, check out the track “Two Very Special People” how well the songs are mixed and the addition of keyboards by Marc Kronenberg makes the songs pleasurable.
Many of the songs have the feeling of music from the heartland of the south. Laid back slow paced but good. I mean you have some classic tunes that even have essences of ALICE COOPER circa “Pretties for You days” like “Love and Money” but also have music on the style of TRAFFIC.
The CD is very good but not my cup of tea, I wouldn’t say I disliked the music; it’s just a CD that I would have to be in the mood for. It has some great highlights tracks and the music, vocals and arrangements are great. Fans of EAGLES,CROSBY STILLS NASH & YOUNG and classic rock fans will adore “Rock Star Headquarters”.
