Eternal Oath was originally formed in 1991. In December 1992, the band recorded a 3-song demo. Thirteen years later, you have the release of Wither and the band is still going strong. “Behind Tomorrow ” starts things off with a heavy dose of metal gothic music with growling vocals. Eternal Oath mixes growling with traditional vocals. The strong point of the new CD is the music behind the vocals which is excellent. You really can't consider Eternal Oath a death metal band just because of the harsh vocals. The music is on the brink of a new genre. You have a blend of heavy metal with gothic, which sets Eternal Oath apart from other bands. I am not a big fan of the harsh vocals, however, when you get down to it, these vocals blend with the music. Check the music behind the vocals. It just kicks ass. The highlight tracks are “Within My World” and “Act Of Fate,” which combines more of the traditional vocals with a heavy dose of Gothic/Metal.
