Evil has risen once again after being dormant for some time and the demonic vampire from hell, WRATH OF KILLENSTEIN, has emerged with a new EP of flamboyant, vile tunes that will caress your heart in one beat.
These guys have always been a favorite on mine and after a period of inactivity that still haven't changed my view. Opener "Demoniaxted"'s backbeat music is trance-like and new axe man Jomar C brings back memories of Richie Stotts of PLASMATICS fame. Killenstein's vocals have a raw style much like Peter Steele (TYPE O NEGATIVE) that brings a glow to the band. You gotta admire the riveting and numbing power chords of Killenstein on "Pigsticker", which has that tantalizing sound of early BLACK SABBATH. Plenty of down tuning on the song and once again Jomar C is a force that is unknown to man.
Talking about BLACK SABBATH; W.O.K. takes on the famous tune "Electric Funeral" and they do a hell of a job bringing a new essences to the tune. The highlight to this track is really the mid-section of drummer John "Servo" DeSalvo and bass master Randy Cavanaugh.
Ending the EP is the title track "Ugly" and it has a very heavy edge almost in the death metal style. Jomar C and KILLENSTEIN go off on a guitar tantrum of pure evil sounds with the parting words by Killenstein "UGLY"! After listening to this EP it got me thinking that some of these tracks would fit right in the TV series Walking Dead!
