Brian Rademacher: Hello Kenny and Welcome to RockEyez.com.

Kenny Leckremo: Hi and thanks.

Brian Rademacher: A friend of mine -Danny from CRAZY LIXX- mentioned that H.E.A.T is one of the best new bands coming out of Sweden. So we checked the band’s samples on your site, and he was right on with that. I know you’re working on a new CD: when can we expect it to hit the market?

Kenny Leckremo: Around the end of March. We have no specific date.Kenny Leckremo, Vic Rivera, Eric Ragno

Brian Rademacher: Let’s get a little into your past. You were formerly in a band called TRADING FATE, which put out six different demo CD’s. Can fans of yours get those anywhere?

Kenny Leckremo: Hmm… tricky one. Ha-ha! Well I don’t think I can get a hold of them. Maybe it’s hiding somewhere in the depths of a basement somewhere. It might be something that will appear over time.

Brian Rademacher: Your music was a bit heavier in TRADING FATE, more of an IRON MAIDEN style. The band seemed pretty successful playing the Sweden Rock Festival in 2004. Why did you decide to leave that band and merge with another band called DREAM?

Kenny Leckremo: Well the majority of TRADING FATE was always into a more melodic side of rock and as time went by we developed. On our last songs we wrote in that band, you can hear that we were taking a much more melodic approach as well.

I was in the studio project called DREAM and we were playing a much more melodic style. So we decided to merge and create H.E.A.T which would contain the feeling and the best music could give us.

Brian Rademacher: What were some of your favorite bands growing up?

Kenny Leckremo: Well, there have been loads of artists and bands that have touched and inspired me. But I have to name Michael Jackson, TOTO, IRON MAIDEN, JOURNEY and Stevie Wonder. Well the list goes on and on. I could rattle about loads of artists and bands.

Brian Rademacher: I see there are plenty of videos of both TRADING FATE and H.E.A.T on YouTube. Do you mind having those videos on there?

Kenny Leckremo: : Nah I don’t mind. I’m proud of what TRADING FATE was and I still think we were kicking ass. YouTube is something lots of people use and it’s good exposure.

Brian Rademacher: For a band like H.E.A.T who plays more of a melodic rock than TRADING FATE did, why did you decide to change genres?

Kenny Leckremo: I was always a sucker for a more melodic style, hence my favorite artists. I enjoy singing melodic rock more as well.

Brian Rademacher: It was not easy trying to track you down and the band does not even have a MySpace site, I was just wondering why you don’t try to expose the band more to the world, since your music is fantastic?

Kenny Leckremo: We do try as much as we can. We have had 2 sites up on MySpace. Haven’t had the time to setup a new one, it will come up very shortly.

Brian Rademacher: Songs on your demo like “Late Night Lady”, “Cry”, “Keep On Dreaming”, “Never Let Go”, and “Feel It Again” are all great tunes. Will they all be on the new CD?

Kenny Leckremo: Yes, all those songs will be included. In total it’s going to be 12 tracks on the album.

Brian Rademacher: You recently opened for TOTO, what was that like?

Kenny Leckremo: Quite hard to explain the feeling I had in my body that night. The whole band was very, very exited- we had the time of our lives. We became very good friends with TOTO and we were up partying. The rest is rock history ha-ha.

Brian Rademacher: If you did an American, tour who are some of the bands you would like to open for?

Kenny Leckremo: Jeez… so many hard questions. There’s so many the list would be too long. We can save that for the next interview. Ha-ha.

Brian Rademacher: You have a powerful voice. Have you had any training?

Kenny Leckremo: Thank you! No, I’m self learned, actually started out as a drummer. I guess all that fooling around with girls perfected my vocal technique. Ha-ha.

Brian Rademacher: What has been the highlight for you so far in music?

Kenny Leckremo: The fans. I notice how I can affect people with my music. That feeling is priceless.

Brian Rademacher: When you signed to StormVox records was it for more than one record?

Kenny Leckremo: Time will tell.

Brian Rademacher: Is it true that you won an award for sounding like Bruce Dickinson?

Kenny Leckremo: Yes that’s true, actually, I have a talent for impersonating others I guess. I went up on stage with IRON MAIDEN in front of 38,000 people. I had a blast.

Brian Rademacher: Can you give us a little information about your childhood? Like where you grew up, what kind of kid were you in school, etc. What was the first CD you owned and the first concert you attended?

Kenny Leckremo: Ok here it goes. I grew up in the suburbs of Stockholm. It was a decent place, but not the calmest place around, and so you had to be tough to get by. I played ice hockey for many years, loved it and still do! My first CD was Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous”. First concert was an IRON MAIDEN concert.

Brian Rademacher: For the new CD is there a title yet, and do you plan on making a video?

Kenny Leckremo: You will see the title when the CD comes out. The plans of making a video are there but there are still a lot of other things that need to be taken care of. It should be coming soon enough.

Brian Rademacher: Do you foresee H.E.A.T playing any tour dates in the US in 2008?

Kenny Leckremo: Yes, I think and hope we will.

Brian Rademacher: Does H.E.A.T have any merchandise fans can buy yet?

Kenny Leckremo: It’s being developed as we speak.

Brian Rademacher: What are your hopes for the new release?

Kenny Leckremo: That we reach as many new listeners as possible and that it touches people the same way it touches us.

Brian Rademacher: Well Kenny I would like to congratulate you on the new upcoming H.E.A.T debut release and signing to StormVox records. Are there any other special plans in the works you would like to tell us about?

Kenny Leckremo: Thank you it means a lot to us. Well we are working on songs for the second album already.

Brian Rademacher: Would you like to pass a message to our readers and the world?

Kenny Leckremo: I would like to thank all of our fans, supporters and encourage you to buy the album. It will be one of a kind. Oh and one more thing, Keep on dreaming.
