Finnish band Vanity Ink combines some great melodies and beats to engage in a supreme debut CD, Roadkills . Annabella's vocals are a mix between Shirley Manson (Garbage) and Patti Smith. Heavy on the background vocals and power chords with high energy can bring the band to success. They have the right elements to bring AOR radio to new heights. The band has a fine tuned image and good song writing tools. The first two tracks are heavy in the power chord mode with track-three kind of a melodic heavy ballad with a good chorus. You get five tracks on this independent release with all five tracks being very good. “Swept aside” is a blockbuster tune that has “hit” written all over it, with catchy hooks and great beat, I can't wait to hear the full-length CD.
