This is the first time I had to do a review in the reverse order of the tracking on the CD. Why, well, I like the fact that SKINDRAFT put all their past demos on the one CD to show the progression of the band through the years.
"Mulch" has a NIRVANA feel even with the Cobain style vocals. I can feel the embracement of emotion in Keith Devereux voice as you can with Curt's.
"Aerospace" is a great tune and would be even more explosive with better production from a major label. This tune is a year later and I can feel the confidence growing and the writing maturing. I really liked this song.
Two years after their first demo with "Mulch," in 2006, SKINDRAFT releases their third demo with three tracks. Production is a little heavier with the drum tracks, still holding a NIRVANA , SILVERCHAIR sound.
The new demos are much heavier and picks up the pace. The guitar seems more melodic and the vocals by Keith Devereux show even more emotion as SKINDRAFT should be hearing the knock on the door to be signed. The quality of the demos is better than your usual muffled demos and I enjoyed listening to their potential, some great music from these boys.
