Meditation and a somber sound come through bright and strong with the music released by CUBE:ISM. They have an alternative style that drives their music.
CUBE:ISM is one of those bands that has the right direction and could be a force if they roll the dice right. The opening track “The Bully” is a good song that mixes vocals styles of Iggy Pop with one of those generic alternatives bands, but the difference is CUBE:ISM has a certain magic to their music.
“A Dreamless Life of Glistering Emotions” has hints of Joe Jackson but adds an experimental sound that creeps up on you. I’m not going to tell you Micke Nilsson has the best vocals I’ve ever heard but he has charisma and just something to his voice will draw your attention.
I love the raw sound on “Can They Hear Me” that show this band has emotion and not one of those bands out there just trying to get chicks and bucks. But those benefits will come in time.
All the songs are pretty good, nothing overpowering. This is the bands second demo and I see the growth and excitement that CUBE:ISM can bring.
