The down-home boys of the Texas based CRIMSON THIRST recently released a five-track EP that balances on the borders of Metal and Euro rock.

Vocalist Jeff Ward has a varying range that’s held by many power metalers but also reaches down hitting notes of Halford and OUTWORLD’s Carlos Zema. The music is your traditional metal screaming guitars and basic riffs which is not a bad thing. I just didn’t feel the emotions flowing during the first two tracks.

“Midnight Masquerade” is a much better but still needs work. The music is not that bad but Ward’s screaming kills the song. The music needs some polishing and hooks in order to bring attention to the tunes. I was expecting better and was very disappointed because these guys have the talent to be great.

The last track “The Wolf” is another song that could be good but again is lacking that full impact punch. Coming from Texas, they could take a look at a great Texas band OUTWORLD and learn from the masters.

Band Lineup:
  • Jeff Ward - Vocals
  • Gary Ward - Bass and Guitars
  • Jonny Jobe - Guitars
  • Ben Jordan - Drums
