When we reviewed the self-titled debut release of New York’s WILDSTREET and gave that disc “5 stars” back in 2009 we knew they were something special. Now in 2011 WILDSTREET have released their sophomore effort, a 5-track EP, “Wildstreet II …Faster…Louder”.

Starting things off is “Shake It” in the style of Billy Idol with heavy drums (Brian Beck) and bass (Ali Hassan) riffs giving way to a heart-throbbing track that exclaims excitement! Heavy guitar hooks, phenomenal harmonies and sure to be a party favorite; rip shredding to the core. Eric Jayk reminds me a bit of Udo Dirkschneider formerly of ACCEPT at points with his throaty style. Keith Robert does his best Ace Frehley impersonation throughout the disc and I just love it!

Next up is “Poison Kiss” and I loved this track. It really shows the class act WILDSTREET are. Once again the harmonies show some whoop-ass chops and Mr. Jayk caresses the vocals but when reaching the chorus WILDSTREET take it to another level. This is a track for AOR radio!

I feel a VAN HALEN / DEF LEPPARD meets AC/DC style with “Cocked and Ready”. You know if you’re looking for a ballad on this release, you can forget it! This is full-blown in-your-face rock and WILDSTREET will shove it down your throat…like it or NOT.

Hold up, did I hear right Mr. Jayk plays some leads on the last track “Can’t Stop The Rock”. This is another great anthem style tune with heavy harmonies. Beck keeps the track alive with his drum smashing and to tell you the truth Eric Jayk impressed me with his leads. This track is made for the arenas!

This EP is another winner for WILDSTREET. Pick this one up… But before ending Kyle Kelso produced the EP and helped shop it for TV/film licensing which have already gotten tracks in "Married to Rock", "Glory Days" and a new MTV/VH1 series "Saddle Ranch . He and I co-wrote “Poison Kiss”, “Cocked & Ready”, and “Hot Lixx”.

Editors note: As of this writing Keith Robert has left the band.
