What can you say about a guy who is multi-talented, writing, producing & fronting a band, and who just released his first solo album…

Canadian born Ronnie Borchert is the man I’m talking about. Being the main attraction in the band AMSTERDAM and also the main man fronting TRIXIE a highly talent band that has some releases under their belt.

Ronnie has produced and worked with some of the top upcoming artists like MISS CRAZY and Alicia Marie plus has also helped out on his sister Nicole Willard’s debut release last year.

I guess after all the work Ronnie has done; he decided to work on his own debut called “Change” on his newly formed label Ronnieland. Some of the guests that are included are MISS CRAZY's Kim Racer and Markus Allen Christopher, Vernon Anderson, Dennis Morehouse, Mark Heaps, and Nicole Willard does vocals on “She’s All I Need.”

Let’s get to the disc. “Take Me Away” is a crunching tune to start things off with a flare of good down to earth rock that will get the adrenaline pumping, with the catchy hooks and traditional power chords. Loved the guitar work that is melodic and drilling.

What I like about the songs and musicianship on “Change,” you can hear hints of an early KISS style from the guitar breaks and the easy going sounds of the past. “Feeling Love for You” makes a turnabout giving way to a BON JOVI vibe and is one of my favorite tracks on “Change.”

Hold on step to the side big brother, sister Nicole needs the spotlight on “She's All I Need.” I like the raw sounding vocals Nicole possesses ala Brit Black and she’s a great addition to big brother’s debut. One of my favorite tracks “My Malena” has searing melodic guitar and solos by Vernon Anderson and Borchert, and Ronnie is stupendous with his vocals and the chorus is killer.

Another track that is pummeling is “I Ain't Going Down” which should have the volume turned up a notch and blasted out the window to have you neighbor saying ‘turn that shit down’, and natural as you’re jumping around like a madman you turn it up even louder, well until Mr. Policeman comes knocking and you’re handed that $50.00 ticket.

The title track “Change” is classic with the overlays of vocals and the slow mesmerizing guitar, has a taste of the BEATLES and is the highlight track. What I like about Borchert’s songs is that they are reminiscent of past greats and you can sing along with them. “Change” has the feel of the good ole days of rock and a fantastic look into the future music of Ronnie Borchert. In one way or another Borchert will be a STAR!!!
