REVOLVER’s debut album, “Turbulence,” is manned by Nick Walsh, front man for the Canadian band, Slik Toxik. Now I would think that all this hype pumped up from Nick Walsh for REVOLVER would somehow show up in the new album, but I was sadly wrong. “Turbulence” does not pick up anywhere, it’s another modern rock clone, plus it’s boring. The best way to describe “Turbulence” is to have a scenario where you find this album on the very bottom of a bargain bin where it’s priced for $4.99. Now, I would say, “Sure, go pick it up. It’s worth 5 bucks.” From that, the music is cheap, to simply put it (And whoever did the album cover with Photoshop should be fired). Nothing exciting going on, but it’s not horrible enough to give it a lower score. REVOLVER has music brewing in this album, but it seems that within all the tracks they chose to redo something that’s been done 10,000 times already. Their music sounds like a watered down version of Chroming Rose with the generic rock levels raised to the max. Hopefully we’ll see something new around the corner for REVOLVER, but I highly doubt it. Rock on!
