Before I even get started with REV THEORY, I am going to bend over and let the band kick me in my ass. You ask why? Well our site received both their first EP and their first full-length release “Truth Is Currency” and we NEVER reviewed either. What the F was I thinking? My apologies go out to the band, which I hope they accept.

Once again, I get the sampler about a week ago from Interscope Records and as it lays in my car with the many others, I lean over and check the cover. I say to myself these guys look kick’n. So I pop the CD in the car and the player started smoking all of a sudden I was going 50, 60, 70, 75 miles an hour. So beware before I even start this review play this at home before those flashing lights creep up to you. Lucky no ticket!!!

The sampler had a bio that was written by Lonn Friend, so I contacted him and he passed my message on to Brett over at Interscope, a day later I have the complete advance release of “Light It Up”.

The opening song “Hell Yeah” just completely blows me away, the power and excitement of GUNS ‘N’ ROSES combined with the likes of HINDER cuts like a knife through this track. I mean you better jump aboard the RT train now before you get left in the dust, these boys are special. The guitar work by Rikky Lixx and Julien Jorgensen will rejuvenate the music scene. GUNS might be the past but the future is REV THEORY.

Track two “Favorite Disease” is another heart stopping track that will be and AOR classic. Has that streaming sound to make the kids orgasmic fluids flowing. I loved the harmonies and the background vocals, but the specialty is that I feel through the music that REV THEORY play the band is actually excited playing to the masses.

The title track “Light It Up” has a flare of STP and you know their success, so stop looking over your shoulder because these boys can bring it like no others in music. Track after track is power packed full of killer guitar solos and the caressing vocals of Rich Luzzi on the next song “Broken Bones” will enlighten you how versatile REV THEORY are. Luzzi possesses the pipes that will bring a huge fan base and with the range and supremacy over others stardom is inevitable.

Up to this point I am floored but wait until you hear “Ten Years”, OMG. Just unbelievable. Kinda of starts off METALLICA -ish musically and the dual vocals of Luzzi and McClosky sets fire and the screaming guitar sears. Just an amazing tune!

If you’re looking for a little change in style check out “You're The One” it’s a little different then the rest of the tunes but still has the RT trademark. Ending the release is “Far From Over” that gives the knock out punch to a phenomenal CD called “Light It Up” on Interscope Records.
