Ya know, the East Coast of the US is not known for female vocalists or even rock bands or power metal. But I’m glad to say things are changing with the Pennsylvanian band NECROMANCE. I’m a bit tired of the “emo-screamo” shit but there are some good ones, even though the repetitiveness is sickening!

NECROMANCE released their first self titled demo back in 2005 and are back in 2009 with “Never Look Back”. Vocally, Sarah Teets has the pipes of Holly Woods from the band TORONTO… just in a different genre of music. The opening track “Never Look Back” is pure metal. Regardless what people think, they always steer towards a female vocalist being progressive or Goth, but not here! We are talking METAL and guitarist Jeff Teets will fuck you up with his style of elevating riffs.

Just listening to the disc, Jeff Teets shines throughout each song making every song enjoyable. Man oh man, check out “Necromance” and Mr. Teets once again with his heavy-duty axe! Damn that’s good...

Really check out “The End Of Our Days” and listen how good bassist Chad Hontz makes his presents know as he blends perfectly with Teets’ guitar work. “Destiny Calls” sure does have that IRON MIDEN feel and I loved the background vocals on this one. Jeff goes off the hook once again… you gotta check this guy out if you like hard core metal riffs. “Destiny Calls” might be my favorite track.

Ending the CD is a soft acoustic track called “Remember” and perfect time for Sarah Teets to shine. All in all this is a pretty damn good CD and we recommend you checking out NECROMANCE.
