I’ve been listening to LOUD AT LEAST’s “Painful Exploration” over and over again and what a killer CD this is! First off, the production is amazing and the musicians are top-notch. The vocals by Gernot Schilcher are incredible and the guitar-work by all three guitarists is outstanding. The opening track “Take Me Along” is pure ecstasy rock. The subtle keyboards add a great dimension that puts these guys above some others. One other thing that stands out is the harmonies; they are great!

“Circle Of Madness” is one of my favorite tracks, which has a classic chorus reminiscent of the band SHYLOCK. LAL are a special band that I hope fans latch onto. They write extreme and potent lyrics and the guitar breaks and solos deserve attention. Just listening, I hear hints of DEEP PURPLE, TRIUMPH and many other legends in the mix.

Check out the melodic track “Drive Any Road”, it’s simply outstanding. Soaring guitar that sky-rockets and the powerful, elevating vocals hit hard and with those background keys it gives the track a slight progressive sound.

I love discovering bands like LOUD AT LEAST because we can help with some exposure that is deserved. Bands like this go unheard of unless they get some press from different sites around the world and by what I see they are making the best of “Painful Exploration”. The CD needs to be pushed to its limits, LOUD AT LEAST bring in sounds of past, present and future even vocally at times sounding like a mild Rob Halford. Just give these guys a listen and you will be pleasantly surprised by the different elements they can bring to the table.

Check out “A Devil In You” which even has a bit of a bluesy sound.

Ending the CD is a sentimental ballad, “Dark Horizons”, that puts LAL over the edge. A power that caresses your senses shows these guys are not a fly-by-night entity.

I still can’t get over the vocals by Gernot Schilcher that are incredible! Check it out!!!
