| Khymera is comprised of two high-priority musicians: keyboardist Daniele Liverani (Genius Rock Opera) and vocalist Dennis Ward (Pink Cream 69).  The quartet is rounded out by drummer Dario Ciccioni and guitarist Tommy Ermolli. Fans of Tyketto and Danger Danger will take hold of this CD with deep thoughts of a resurgence of the music of yesteryear. The music is pure power pop, melodic and has the AOR flowing rhythm. Brush off those Capezio’s and get ready to bop till you drop with catchy hooks: Dennis Ward’s vocals are so good it makes me want to puke. The harmonies are in the same vein as those of Richard Page and Mr. Mister. “The Damage is Done” is a little harder-edged, more like Tony Harnell of TNT. “After the Way” is one of the better tracks on “A New Promise” it blends the high piercing guitar with the comforting soft voice of Ward, bringing a new meaning to melodic music. There are so many songs that are pleasurable that the entire CD is a good addition to your collection. “Tomorrow Never Comes” is another song that would have been a hit in the vintage time of 80’s rock.
Our two writers Dave and Mark will love this CD - and will have to beg me to get it because I’m not giving it up. Sorry guys!!!
