The Chigger Chronicles (2) |
I love all things that have to do with number two, and most who know me, already knew that! Anyway, thanks for coming back to see what my big mouth has to say! So let's get to it....My bros from NYC's BLACK WATER RISING have been spending most of 2011 working on their new CD, but recently found the time to take a break from recording to travel to Philadelphia to headline the annual “Ride For Dime” event, a charitable concert and motorcycle ride in honor of the late and great PANTERA/DAMAGE PLAN guitarist, “Dimebag” Darrell Abbott. Funds raised from this event went to benefit the “Ride For Dime Scholarship Fund”. The event was originally started in Arlington, TX back in 2005 by Dime’s closest friends and family, but now boasts six chapters with one of them being in Philly. Who better to headline this event than one of the hottest acts in the area, BLACK WATER RISING! Look for some new BLACK WATER RISING material to hit the airwaves sometime this fall!…….
My bud, Lisa Riggiola, former promoter of Dexter’s Entertainment Complex in Riverdale, NJ and A’s Rock and Sports Bar in Bergenfield, NJ, has been lining up the second annual Rockin’ The Lake Outdoor Music Festival at the Pompton Lakes, NJ Elks Lodge on Saturday, August 6 from 12 pm till 8 pm. The day will be filled with mainly cover bands like SOUTHERN FURY, SLIPPERY WHEN WET, FISTACUFFS, ROCK KANDY, MALA, and CRACKERMAN, but will be rounded out with original acts like my bros from OUR BLACK FRIDAY, BURNING RED SUN, and solo artist Billy Magee. Oh, but there’s more! There will also be an All-Star Jam, of sorts, featuring Jack Frost from SAVATAGE, SEVEN WITCHES, and LIZZY BORDEN, Mike Lepond from SYMPHONY X, and Taz Marazz from SEVEN WITCHES. This sounds like a fun day, so don't miss it if you live in North Jersey!!......
And finally, a big celebration for the Gotham Rocks crew! The NYC promotional giant is celebrating its three-year anniversary with a huge party at Irving Plaza in NYC on Thursday, July 21. You know that with a celebration like this, promoter Mike Sankari and his crew could only put together an all-star type of concert. Performing the three-year anniversary event will be WOODS OF ARDEN, SWEET FIX, BOUND BY SUBSTANCE, CHARETTA who will also be celebrating the release of their latest CD A Nation Distracted, THE AUGUST INFINITY, my bros from KILLCODE, while rounding out the night will be CRUSH OF EMPIRES.
