Here it is, the newest EP from GASOLINE STARS. The four-piece Swedish band has that glam Eighties feel that is reminiscent of PRETTY BOY FLOYD. Pure pop culture start things off with "Weekend", which has candy sticking between your teeth as the youngsters kick it into high gear. Power chords ala SCANDAL meets RUBY SLIPPERS with killer background vocals. You can't deny the flashback sound of the eighties with many Swede bands. No country will be able to revive the past but it's really great that GASOLINE STARS and many like them are having the most fun they can in the music business these days.
Track two "Kiss Me" is another track that has killer lyrics and the traditional glam sound. This is a good one as the chorus brings the song to life. Vocalist Daniel Almqvist has a good feel mastering the classic sound and guitarist Pontus Gustafsson, if you listen carefully, goes off the hook with his guitar licks.
Daniel's vocal's on "Can't Stand It" has the essences of The King himself Dave Lepard (CRASHDIET) . "Can't Stand It" can put the spark to any crowd. The song is a little change in direct but once again the harmonies are outstanding and the screams by Mr. Almqvist are amazing and I also loved the guitar work by Gustafsson. These guys, with the right marketing, can become a force in music and with the addition of bass master Timmy Kan and time-keeper Rasmus Carlsson they are the full package.
