I can’t believe it, a band originating from Sweden that doesn’t play glam or 80’s rock. A fresh new face is in town, well kind of… EGONAUT released two prior demos “First one to Strike Wins” and “One Down...” and now in 2008, EGONAUT is back with a new self-titled, two-track demo.

These boys hit hard with their first track, “Nowhere Bound”. It has sounds of vintage DANZIG but they play with more rock than Glenn will ever play. The song has almost a DEEP PURPLE feel like “Space Truckin’” and has the ingredients that can hold your attention, cool bass lines by Kristoffer Drotzand with flowing keyboards by Dennis makes this track a pleasurable listen.

“We’ve Come For You All” starts off like Ozzy’s IRON MAN and rips into a barrage of hard vocals by Fredrik Jordanius, Both songs flow very well but both will remind you of other artists’ past songs. I would say the only drawback is that EGONAUT needs to release more tunes on their demos to make an accurate evaluation. As I said, both songs are good but have a lot in common with golden oldies.

Band Lineup:
  • Fredrik Jordanius: Vocals and Guitars
  • Kristoffer Drotz: Bass
  • Markus Johansson: Drums
  • Dennis: Organs
