Ever since we caught the first wave of SISTER SIN back in 2005 we've been huge fans here at RockEyez and they have never let us down. Through the years and the many releases SISTER SIN has always delivered pummeling sounds and their live show will just blow you away. "Now And Forever" is their latest release and once again they have delivered.
The disc starts off with "MMXII" and it's an eerie, dark instrumental comprised of keys and drums and then jumps right into a flurry of greatness with the title track "End Of The Line". This is true metal with a phenomenal chorus. Liv Jagrell's vocals will summon the metal community to rise to their feet and raise their fists as the uproar from the crowd comes together in unity. Just a killer start to the album!
"Fight Song" is reminiscent of MOTLEY CRUE's "Knock 'Em Dead Kid" and the energy is on high power. Great riffs from Jimmy Hiltula that will have some necks snapping. The song is all metal but has some amazing directional changes that add that melodic overtones. "In It For Life" is fast-paced and I can see some punk bands doing this one as a cover tune. It's raw in sound but the excitement is pure gold.
"Hearts Of Cold" highlights the guitar work of Hiltula and Dave Sundberg, who smashes the shit out of the skins. The song is powerful and aggressive, which should draw in fans of harder-edged metal.
The background vocals and harmonies on "I'm Not You" are exceptional. The song is a bit different than others on the record but the chorus will bring chants from the live crowds and make it one of their favorites. "Running Low" has that killer beat and comparisons will be drawn to CRASHDIET' track "Falling Rain".
The band hit and hit hard with "Shades Of Black" as once again SISTER SIN shows to be fans of MOTLEY CRUE as they have those basic essentials that made the CRUE's Shout At The Devil release a holy grail in the genre. Coming to a close Liv shows her talented vocals with a ballad called "Morning After". I am not sure fans are ready for this one after ripping your ears to shreds but you make the call. The soaring guitar of Hitula is exceptional on this one and even though it's a bit of a directional change from the rest of the record I liked the tune.
