POMPTON LAKES FLOOD VICTIMS
Supported by Rockeyez.com / By Brian Rademacher & Mark Balogh

Pompton Lakes Councilwomen Lisa Riggiola contacted Rockeyez.com in support of the recent flood victims of her town to attend a special benefit concert that was held at Dexter's (www.dextersentertainment.com) in Riverdale, New Jersey on June 10, 2007.

Rockeyez proudly supports many fund raising projects and agreed to attend along with a special give-away to be donated by our site. Staff writer Mark Balogh and I did the trek up north to Dexter's, a club that is truly an icon to visit. It can cater to major acts as well as newbie's looking to get their big break.

One thing that is brought to light is the club is an all age's establishment which is shun by many clubs in the New Jersey area and needs to be brought back to have the scene shine once again as it did in the past.

The show featured the bands FARMER PHIL & THE RENEGADES, THE 3M BAND, DOWN TRIP, THE 80's INVASION, ADRENALIZE (DEF LEPPARD tribute), FISTACUFFS, SANCTUARY (IRON MAIDEN tribute) and headliners XENON appearing on the bill.

Some of the donated items were spectacular; a one week summer vacation package to Wildwood NJ, signed sports memorabilia, and a grand prize being an autographed Les Paul model guitar personally signed by Mr. Les Paul himself and it was accompanied by a framed original guitar pick collage donated by Rockeyez. The big raffle was picked just before XENON took the stage and the winner was a young boy who has just won an amazing signed guitar by Les Paul!

XENON (www.xenononline.com) took the stage around 9:30pm playing a forty-five minute set of fan favorites, such as 'Tip of My Fingers', 'Cry in the Night', 'Holding On' and 'Lay Me Down' plus their trademark song 'Thru The Rain'. They also did a cover of 'Electric Eye' from JUDAS PRIEST! You've gotta recognize XENON as music legends for entertaining the NJ public since 1983. So congratulations go out to XENON's Joey Fiamingo, Bob Specht, Irene Kuhl, Tony Capobianco, Ronny Smith, & Sarah Dunlap.

One of the more exciting stage presences of the night was by XENON background vocalist, Sarah Dunlap, who kicked up her heels on the last two songs of the night..."Monkey Business" by SKID ROW and "Thunderkiss '69" by WHITE ZOMBIE were belted out with passion and conviction as Joey Fiamingo handed over the microphone to her!

It was a memorable night which raised just over $7,000 for its cause. Congratulations to the people of Pompton Lakes!!!

Special thanks go out to Lisa Riggiola & Herb Newman for being gracious hosts.
