AMERICAN ANGEL made their second visit to Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ on 3/15/05. This time it was as the opener for the ENUFF Z’NUFF / TRAMP’S WHITE LION show. Now it was a Tuesday night and they did hit the stage somewhat early, but it was NJ and we are talking about AMERICAN ANGEL, so there was certainly no shortage of crowd support. This was my second time seeing this lineup and I’m happy to say they keep getting better!

The band opened the show with the 1-2 punch of long-time crowd favorite “After the Laughter” and “If Love Is So Blind” (from “EP ’92”). One of the first things I noticed was how the band sounded tighter then the previous time I saw them. This “new and improved” version seems to be getting more comfortable with each show. For the third song, the band treated the crowd to a brand new song titled “Blue Inside.” The track is guitar driven with a classic rock feel. After that they played “You’ve Taken It All” and then another new track, “Turns To Grey” (which is available for download on their website). After a short break, so singer Rocco Fury could “hand out” some CD singles of the previous song the band broke into “Back to You”. “Don’t Come Easy” followed and the band sounded absolutely great on this song, especially the twin guitar attack of Mike Bisulca and Dennis Zehrer, which was very impressive. The band ended the show with the AMERICAN ANGEL classic “How Can I Miss You.”

It was a great show, so if you missed it be sure to check out the band at some of their other upcoming “Raising Money For Bail” 2005 shows ( And also be on the lookout for an interview with the band coming up here next week at
